Main Street Youth Theatre 2009 – 2010 after School Programs

• Session 3 – January 11 – February 19
• Session 4 – February 22 – April 9 (No class March 29 – April 2)
• Session 5 – April 12 – May 21

Actor’s Focus

4:00pm to 5:00pm - Ages 7 to 11
5:00pm to 6:00pm - Ages 12 and Up
($110 for 6 weeks)

Students will learn improvisational skills while exploring important acting techniques including impulse, objectives and instinct while also focusing on training in film, television and commercial auditions. Instructor: Becky Meister

Broadway Bound

4:00pm to 5:45pm - Beginner
5:45pm to 6:30pm - Intermediate
($100 for 6 weeks)

This class is for the musical student who is interested in Song and Dance! Students will rehearse musical numbers from some of Broadway’s greatest shows! Classes will be split according to ability and experience. Instructor: Jodi Layman

Tap Dance

3:45pm to 4:45pm - Intermediate / Advanced
4:45pm to 5:45pm - Beginner
($110 for 6 weeks)

Back by demand! Two levels of tap dancing classes that will be determined by ability and experience. Instructor: Sanny Wartko

Main Street Express

4:00pm to 5:30pm - Grades 6th through 10th
($300 for 12 weeks)

Here’s your chance to join Main Street Youth Theatre’s new show choir. Students in grades 6 to 10 are encouraged to audition to be part of this new and exciting group. Main Street Express will perform both at Main Street and throughout the Bluffton/HHI area. Instructor: Larry Mercer

Musical Theatre Performance

4:00pm to 5:00pm - Ages 7 and Up
($300 for 12 weeks)

This 12 week program is for the student who wants to perform, but isn’t ready for the main stage. Students will audition, rehearse and perform the Disney Jr. production of The Aristocats Kids. The class will end with a stage production that will be open to the public. Instructor: Jodi Layman

Creative Kids

5:00pm to 5:45pm - Ages 3 to 6
($100 for 6 weeks)

Young students will enjoy acting games; learn improvisational skills and how to present themselves while also learning how to express their emotions through facial expression and music. Instructor: Jodi Layman

Guitar Ensemble

5:30pm to 6:30pm
($180 for 10 weeks)

Several guitars together, all playing different parts, make for great sounding music and lots of fun. No reading music necessary – it’s all TAB and chord charts. A year’s experience on the guitar is recommended. The 10 week session will conclude with a concert in Mid-November. The workshop will kick off the MAIN STREET GUITAR ENSEMBLE, a new performing group.
