Hey MSYT fans! Main Street Youth Theatre is asking you for suggestions for shows you’d like us to consider producing for our 2020 Season.

We usually produce three musicals in a year with the following format:

  • The Spring show is primarily cast with young children
  • The Summer is primarily cast with high school and college age young people
  • The Fall show is generally cast with all ages

Please send your suggestions to our playreading committee at: PhilHarrisAP@gmail.com.

Grant is excited to return for his fifth production with Main Street Youth Theatre, this time in the director’s chair for Mulan Jr. You may have seen him as Quasimodo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Danny Zuko in Grease, or the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz. He would first like to thank God for blessing him with the opportunities he has received, and his family for their unconditional support. Enjoy the show!

Christa Fortney was involved in many aspects of performance (dance, chorus, piano, and theatre) in her younger years, and has been apart of the Lowcountry community theatre scene since 2015. In South Carolina, she has been seen onstage in various works through May River Theatre, Main Street Youth Theatre, and Coastal Stage Productions. Most recently she performed as Pickles in The Great American Trail Park Musical (CSP). Her time behind the scenes includes stage manager of The Miracle Worker (MRT), costumes/lighting/front of house manager for Christmas Belles (CSP), and costumes for No Time for Sergeants and Smoke on the Mountain (MRT). Her time away from the stage is spent drafting plans as a residential designer, planning parties, and spoiling her dogs – Roscoe & Daisy. Christa would like to thank her husband Thaddeus Miller for continued support and the entire cast and crew for extreme dedication.

Keegan Crotty is 17 years old and is a senior at Heritage Academy. He started his career on the island at 8 years old with Main Street as Avery in the production of Charlotte’s Web, and was ensemble for the Main Street Productions of 13, Music of the Night, and Guys and Dolls. He then attended Hilton Head Prep and had starred in productions such as The Little Mermaid as King Triton, Comedy of Errors as Algernon, James and the Giant Peach as the Grasshopper, Almost, Maine as Steve, Chad, and Pete, and Les Miserables as Jean Valjean. Keegan is most excited to make his return to the Main Street Theater with his role as Phoebus, and wants to thank his cast and crew for all their hard work and dedication to the show. He would also thank his friends, family and Peggy Trecker White for all their continued support.

Jacey Robinson returns to the stage as Esmeralda in The Hunchback of Notre Dame. This is Jacey’s 18th production and 6th production with MSYT. Jacey is a senior at HHCA and hopes to pursue a BFA in Musical Theatre in college. She recently attended Interlochen Academy’s Musical Theatre Intensive in Michigan! Jacey’s also directing HHCA’s production of Into the Woods Jr. opening November 1st! Jacey is thrilled to have the opportunity to play this unique role of Esmeralda and can’t wait for everyone to see it! She’d like to thank Travis and MSYT for this opportunity and her family for always supporting her!
